The youth of today are the future creators. Everyone wants to build a better and brighter future, that is why young people are given the opportunity to expand their knowledge and vision to the world. In order to improve myself, I chose to take advantage of this special opportunity and go to a short exchange program in Italy, the city of Cento. The project "Fit For Job" helps young people to get more information about the possibilities for future study and work abroad, as well as improve their language skills and learn about other countries cultures.
Although we are located in the same continent, each country has its own school, work, educational system, which is specific to a particular country. Learning the national systems, you can understand your options in the future. Make sure that it is exactly for you or whether you be able to do it. That is why, even in high school before graduation, are already given the opportunity to figure out the future and look at the options and see it with your own eyes.

Within the Erasmus Project „Fit for Job: Orientation to Career and University Studies at Secondary Schools” from 19th.-25th. April we went to Italy, where we visited the firm BALTUR, Ferarri muesum and agricultural school „Spallanzani”. During the visit we learned about these establishments, their history, progress and also about the required professions, knowledge, education and career opportunities. We had the opportunity to participate in some of the work ourselves which gave us additional experiences about the work in these occupations. We visited the local school where we participated in a lesson and there we saw the diferences between educational work in our school in Latvia. As well we gained a small picture of the education system in Italy in general. During the Project we lived in host families, which made it possible to get to know Italian culture, traditional foods, social life and the daily life of family. Throughout the project, we improved both language skills, ability to communicate and the experience to adapt to a different cultural environment, which allowed to obtain an integral richness - new friends.

This spring I had a great opurtunity to visit Italy by being a part of a Europien Union exchange program. At first I doubt my chances of geting in the program, but I passed the qualifications needed for the program, and I was one of the six students that went to Italy.
The town where we stayed for six days was Cento, a town in North Italy in the Ferrara province. There we were hosted by the italian students and their families, who were also participating in the program. In my work I describe my skils and my motivation why I participated in the program, and I also what did our group do while staying in Italy. While we were in Italy we mostly visited companys and firms, where they explained us their business strategys and their view on the economic situation. While I was in these companys I payed attention on how they produce their product and what are their marketing strategys, because this program is oriented on career posibilities. In my work I describe what kind of companys I visited and what did I learn from them. Of course I also included information about the Italian culture and their differences from Latvia.
The time I spent in Italy was very important to me, because I learned new things about business, economics and the italian culture. I also improved my comunication skills, English language skills and my ability to interact with different cultures, and I hope that this experience will be useful for me in the future.
